Sgt. Barbara Martinez Selected to Shape the Future of Space Force as Instructor

SCHRIEVER SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Instructor duty is an extremely important responsibility to the future of the Space Force. Being chosen for this assignment is a significant achievement, demonstrating an individuals’ exceptional technical proficiency, proven leadership, and the immense trust the Space Force places in their abilities. We are proud to announce that Sgt. Barbara Martinez, the Space Delta 8 Defensive Cyberspace Operations Section 2 Chief for the 68^th Cyberspace Squadron, is among those selected for instructor duty.

In her current role, Martinez manages personnel and ensures they are fully resourced while conducting critical cyber missions. After spending her first assignment at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, she will be taking her talents to Keesler AFB in Mississippi as a tech school instructor.

“I am excited about the opportunity to shape upcoming members of the Space Force,” said Martinez. She hopes to lead her students to success, build their passion for cyber and express her perspectives about the field. She is ready to impart knowledge upon her students while instilling patience and consistency within them.

As the Space Force will double in size over the next five years, it is essential for the service to fund comprehensive recruitment and training for upcoming Guardians. Martinez encourages others to consider instructor duty as a way for them to advance future Guardians and build up their own leadership abilities.
