USSPACECOM Commander returns to the European theater to strengthen space cooperation
U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, Commander of U.S. Space Command, speaks to U.S. Space Force Col. Brian Capps, Commander of the 821st Space Base Group, during a visit to Pittufik Space Base. Dickinson stopped in Greenland as part of a larger trip throughout the European theater June 21-27, 2023, aimed at strengthening space cooperation with allies and partners. While at Pituffik, Dickinson visited members of the 821st Support Squadron and the 12th Space Warning Squadron to discuss mission support and capabilities. USSPACECOM, working with Allies and Partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats.
