USSPACECOM Commander returns to the European theater to strengthen space cooperation
U.S. Army Gen. James Dickinson, Commander of U.S. Space Command, poses for a photo with Maj. Gen. Phillippe Adam, Commander of French Space Command, various staff members from USSPACECOM and other representatives from across the French space community at the Toulouse Space Campus – the future location of French Space Command. Dickinson stopped in France as part of a larger trip throughout the European theater June 21-27, 2023, aimed at strengthening space cooperation with allies and partners. During the visit, Adam provided an update on progress since French Space Command stood up in 2019, to include recent lessons learned from the multilateral exercise Aster-X held in April. Adam and Dickinson strongly reaffirmed their commitment to expanding upon the already strong partnership between the U.S. and French military space programs. USSPACECOM, working with Allies and Partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats.
